This was so, so good. I don't really have anything to add because you basically took the words out of my mouth. First we have to love and listen and then God will open the door for truth sharing when the time is right. But if you are a follower of Jesus, your heart longs for others to find Him. There is no better life. You cannot save yourself, you need His grace and mercy and love that has the power to save you. I pray all the time that God can use me in a way that makes His truth something others want. Thanks for this one, Don. You're speaking my language. Acts 4:12, John 3:16-17

Donny, two verses in Psalm 46 come to mind in regards to a couple of things you shared on this week’s prayer walk. Verse 1 states “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” We all face struggles, but praise God he is our refuge each time. He never promised the journey would be easy. Verse 10 states “Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. Towards the end of your walk you referenced be quiet listen, this verse could apply to that. I won’t cram what I believe down someone’s throat because God calls us to love all people even those that have harmed us. That’s hard to do, but God knows that. I’m not the the one to judge or condemn others, but I will let God/Jesus handle that. Basically, I want to be more bold in my faith, but I won’t cram it down their throat. If they are open to discuss or receive, then that’s when I believe God will open the door and share with that person. This was a great prayer walk and I thank you for bringing these to us to make us really stop and think and evaluate our own walk with Jesus. God bless you and this community! 🙏🙏

You're right, Anne!

Conviction is the work of the Holy Spirit, our role is to love people and witness about Salvation through our daily practices.

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: indeed, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41)

Most of my friends are not followers of Christ and I am inserted in the university environment where “religious coexistence” is quite widespread, so I pray to God for wisdom, discernment and ability to listen to different perceptions, and most of all, I pray for I really want to be salt of the earth and light of the world, because I don't want to “intimidate people” with my faith, I want my faith to be a motivation to come to Christ.

Interesting that today's study proposed by the “YouVersion Bible” brings a message that corroborates its approach “for the Christian faith, there is only one path that leads to God: only if you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead. Therefore coexistence can only come about through the Person and work of Jesus Christ, He alone is the solution for lost and fallen humanity (Acts 4:12).

This “Coexist” movement reminds me of the Tower of Babel rebellion (Genesis 11:4).

Thank you for the walk and message, God bless you!

Oh my, you went so deep I had to go and wash the mud off my feet.

When we look at the Old Testament you see how God handled disobedience. The children went after other gods and went into bondage because of it. If Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever He will expect us to choose Him over any other god. I had another religion come to my door and I let them speak. They didn’t believe In the resurrection. I told them that without Jesus they had no priest to approach the throne of God. Their unbelief would not allow an approach to heaven.

We need to know the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus is the I AM. We should study like you have,Donny to show ourselves approved. Thank you for teaching.

Donny I love this topic, I can remember being in church as a child and hearing the Preacher saying the “only” way to get to Heaven is to accept Jesus Christ in your heart. That stuck with me all these years... like last weeks discussion he lives in all of us but to know him is to love him and carry him in our hearts!!! Thank you for another great walk, see you on the next one🙏☺️

You speak truths Donny so good, everywhere we are ,God is. God is there in all, directions we take, no matter which way we choose to go.God is there in all the conditions of life.Whatever there nature or intensity. God,who love us enough to make us all special as we are, does not leave us alone any time. Guidance is high on the list of what God likes to do for us. God gives us directions to follow, points the way for us that he knows so well. The Bible is filled with stories of divine guidance. Thank you for this prayer walk now I have to deepen my own with Jesus. I love this community and God bless you all.🙏

Your prayer walk today made me think for awhile about the disciple Thomas. Is being a “Doubting Thomas” a bad thing? Or does truth-seeking bring us even closer to Jesus? Are we only blessed if we believe without seeing? (John 20:29) I find my faith in Jesus is strengthening because of studying different religions. Odd?

Great question Jan.

I think it's important to look into the name "doubting Thomas". Does it show up ANYWHERE in the bible or is it a label people gave him outside of the bible?

Another important thing to note is how Jesus responded to Thomas when he "questioned".

John 20:24-26

Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Didymus (Twin), was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.” Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Notice how Jesus starts with "Peace be with you". Then Jesus lovingly meets Thomas where he is in his faith and guides him to the truth.

I believe Thomas was sad he had not seen Jesus and really wanted to see the one he loved so very much. Jesus answered his need like He answers ours.

I've always admired Thomas' honesty in his questions. He wasn't afraid to say, "I don't get it." I have studied a lot of religions, but I find that being grounded in God's Word is time well spent so we can discern truth from what may sound like truth but isn't. Faith grows exponentially when we ask those questions and search for answers in what He has said already. I love your questions, Jan! You always make me think!

Interesting. I always felt the same way, appreciating how Thomas was very honest. If he hadn't expressed his "doubts" he would not have received the beautiful words of our Lord that are so helpful to each of us.

This was a great prayer walk in a beautiful park setting. The topic is timely, particularly with so many calls for “one world religion.” In Ephesians 4: 4-6 the Apostle Paul writes that “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” This is consistent with the other verses you have shared, and it’s quite clear that faith in Christ is exclusive of other religions. This truth is basic to the Christian faith, and yet very challenging to us living in the modern world. It doesn’t mean we can’t coexist with others by working together for good causes, such as fighting poverty, but it does mean that Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father. I have no choice but to embrace this truth.

Wow! Donny what I think stood out to me was when you reminded me it is about love! When we are authentic with others through our actions and not just our words they see Christ through us. That to me is what drew me to Christianity when I was a junior in high school. I had such big questions, like why did my 18 year old friend die from leukemia, or why did my grandmother pass away, or why are my parents fighting. I was struggling for answers and what drew me to The Lord was the genuine love of my Young Life leaders. So, all that to say, love is the first step! Thank you for boldly yet with love state these truths. Amen!

Donny, another inspiring walk with a challenge. It has given me a lot to think about, Isaiah 44:6 .......“ I am the first and the last and there is no God except me”. This week my faith and belief in God was strengthened as I listened to a speaker share her story of faith. At the age of 10, this woman was in a house fire caused by a gas explosion, she was burned over 70% of her body, many 3rd degree, even with many surgeries she still has scars. She knew at age 10 that God was with her, she never gave up. Her story was an inspiring testimony to the power of faith and God’s love for His people. So thanks again for your walks, and the community you have created. Blessings!

I believe that God is who he says he is, but I know many do not. I don't argue I just walk my faith. I think actions are more powerful than words at times. I pray for those I love that don't know God or are searching. I want my life to show I love Jesus, not just my words.
