Thank you again for another amazing prayer walk. You hit some heavy thoughts feelings, time, anxiety and California truck traffic. Joshua Tree is brilliant, there is so much to see if you slow down and really look. Life forms most just pass by without notice. Oops, there’s that thing called time. Safe travels. Keeping talking while drive, it’s good for the soul. Love ya! 🥰🙏

Donny, so glad to know you've had a safe trip thus far! Man, you can really drive pretty far without stopping for rest, etc. I love to drive myself, but I'm afraid I would have to stop a little more often, LOL!

Thank you for the prayer walk and your thoughts concerning our feelings, time, anxiety, etc. I try to be in the moment if you will as much as I can and I know life doesn't always let it be that way due to my full time job demands or whatever. I will say I am learning so much better to take those thoughts or feelings captive much better now before the devil tries to worm his way in.

Each morning before I start my day, I have a rather long quiet time alone with God reading several devotions, scripture, and then prayer. I am an early riser so I know that doesn't work well for everyone, but I find this year especially when I've done this, the anxiety has lessened; hardly watch TV at all, and like I said before, time has been better utilized. There's always room for improvement, but I will take this. It just sets the right tone for me to starting my day and focused on what God wants and not what I want.

I'm trying to make it a practice to Be a Light for others especially as God leads me to do a simple act of kindness and make this a more often occurrence than it has been. Like you said, I'm also trying to be more thankful and want to be filled with more gratitude and joy each day. The world needs a lot more of this, so who's to say we can do this?

I loved seeing Joshua Park, so thank you for the tour. Wishing you all the best and continued blessings and safe travels my friend! Take care!

Hey Anne,

I'm trying to "silence myself", this is a challenge for me, I'm always connected to 220 volts - lol. But, I'm evolving!

I agree with you, when this happens it reduces anxiety and increases the quality of life. I can't always do this before starting the day's tasks.

I still have a long way to go...

Everyone is different but when I start the day off with that alone time with God, it has made a profound difference in my life. I’m glad we’re all different because we can all take something away from one another when we share. It also takes obedience and discipline and doesn’t happen overnight. For me it took way too long, but as I look at it, better late than never and with God, it’s always his timing for each of us as we’re all so vastly different. Take care my friend! God bless you!

Everything you said is so true, especially about discipline, a skill I need to develop.

Thank you my friend, God bless you!

First of all Donny, thank you for sharing Joshua Tree. My son told me about it after he visited there but I have never seen it. Pretty cool place. Then you gave us some pretty thought provoking ideas to think on. Time. Wow listening to you talk about that, how true it is. Time for me is one big schedule. I don't know if its necessary or not. So many other thoughts to think on. Thank you Donny for this prayer walk. I enjoyed it. Safe travels my friend.

Donny, was excited to see your walk today was in Joshua Tree National Park, I lived in 29 Palms for 30 years, park headquarters is there. Spent many hours walking through the park, even a few nights star gazing and looking for meteor showers!

Now for reflections on the walk, yesterday my feelings were definitely controlling me, was frustrated, upset, disappointed with my son. Had a heavy heart all day, so much was actually feeling physically sick. Only after I spent some time in quiet, handed problem over to God for the night, did I start letting go of the negative feelings. Woke this morning with a new focus on feelings, a new path to take, a grateful heart for another day. Realized need to remember to take time to talk and listen to my heart and God.

Continued blessings as you complete your journey back to Canada. Your prayer walks help me keep focus on my relationship with the Lord.

Donny, your thoughts on time resonate with me. I have asked myself over and over again why I chose to have my daily living dictated by the minute hand on a clock. Slowly I am learning to live more in the moment, not concerning myself with the hour or day, however the work I do revolves around the face of the clock, thus making life itself revolve around the clock face during the work week. Fortunately weekends are timeless as I have decided to put away the timepiece on the weekends. Brings a lot of joy to my being! At some point it will come to where each day is mine, not the clock's.

Your thoughts on driving without the radio is music to my ears! My work has me spend a lot of time in the car. I do not listen to the radio when driving, but spend that time listening to and talking with Jesus. It is what keeps me sane in this odd world.

Donny I must admit this prayer walk is is the timo of the week I look most forward to along with Graham’s poem on Tuesdays. When I think about any of my time spent it’s time I spend with God in things He orchestrates. I’m finding that He does calm me down after I take the time to spend time with Him. I’ve got plans to spend time where God leads. I’m seeing a lovely couple Friday that one of them broke a hip. These things give me joy that time just has to move over. It’s the daily things outside of time we have to learn patience in.

Thank you Donny for this week prayer walk and glad to hear you are making good time driving back. Safe travels I hope you arrive safe back home. We can’t wait for you to get back to Nashville. I’m asking you to please say some extra prayers for both my husband and I. This past couple weeks has been rough and soon we get to travel to my birth country “ Philippines “ and see my family and we get to celebrate Christmas together. I will be 13 hours ahead CST time and I hope we get good internet signal in our home .

Well, to be honest I would have to choose the 4 topics - lol

Normally when talking about feelings, “emotion” almost always comes to mind, but these two concepts are different.

Emotion is an immediate reaction to a stimulus is something that moves you and does not involve thought.

Feeling involves a cognitive degree of perception and evaluation.

So emotion is reaction while feeling is construction.

That said, and if you allow me, Donny – if I didn't have a translation error in my understanding – I think that the examples you cited and the fact that they are “passengers” is because they are related to emotion and not to feeling.

As for me, I've already mentioned that I'm emotional, so I get in and out of emotional situations (which sometimes I think is feeling) very quickly... there's a good and a bad side (lol – but that's a long discussion I've been doing with God and in therapy).

My daily challenge has been to apply what the Bible teaches in Galatians 5:22, let the Holy Spirit control my emotions and feelings! When this happens all the other 3 are fixed.

I learned from Graham about recognizing the “little miracles” that has helped me to be grateful more often.

Anyway, I will continue to reflect on all this. Thank you so much for the walk and for introducing Joshua Tree Park!

Questions:

What was the temperature on the day of your walk in this park? because the image sent me to the desert - lol.

When you say you talk to God, whether on walks or driving in your car, are you speaking out loud or just in your mind?

God bless you!

the temperature was 25 Celsius or 77 Fahrenheit that day.

Yes when I am driving or on prayer walks I speak out loud. I believe there is power in words being spoken out loud and that's why I go on prayer walks, to speak out loud to God the Father

I choose #4. I am thankful to God for being with me every step I take. My husband of 53 years passed away from cancer 4 years ago and God took him home. He is no longer in pain and he is in the loving arms of God. Yes, I miss him every day. We had a wonderful marriage and I would not trade a minute of that time. We knew God was in control and he is still in control, so yes, I am very thankful. Your prayer walks are wonderful and as you travel I wish you safety with each mile you travel.

Good evening Donny. I enjoyed your prayer walk. Focus on the highlights there are times I do then that time gets in the way. I have to remember to make time to sit be still has Graham says. I’ve never heard oh Joshua tree till you talked and did your walk there. It’s beautiful. As far as being thankful when I’m driving I have to do better than what I’m doing.when you said awe man your killing me, I had to laugh because I just said that this morning LOL. Then when you stated about a trucker not cutting you off and staying in their lane. I have at times said thank you. When I travel to Kentucky is when I get the truckers and most of them are pretty cool others not so much. Donny I’m glad your trip is going as you planned I’ll continue to pray for your safety back to Canada. Will see you next Wednesday for another prayer walk. It will be interesting on where you go to next God’s blessings to you my friend.

Oh my audition is tomorrow thank you for your prayers I’ve been practicing every day. Fingers crossed I’ll let you know how it went.
